Alexa Jones, Technician
Alexa was born and raised and West Palm Beach, Florida and has grown up with and always loved animals of all species. She found her true infatuation with horses at the age of 8 when she began taking riding lessons. Over the years Alexa has ridden and competed in different english and western disciplines, but now enjoys ranch riding and trail riding with her two Quarter Horses "Zans Snazzy Cielo" and "Zans Skipn Sugar." Alexa has worked at small and large animal veterinary clinics in the past, but has a passion for equine medicine. She was thrilled to join the CBE team in December of 2017. Now happily settled in Georgia for 12 years, Alexa enjoys spending time with her fiance Chase and their friends and family. Alexa and Chase are proud pet parents of 3 rescue dogs and 1 cat.
Marie Greer, Office Manager
Marie Greer is the office manager at CBE. Marie has been “horse crazy” since the young age of six and her personal and professional life has revolved around horses since that time. Marie came to the US in 1966 and immediately took to Western riding. Marie has spent many years competing and working with different breeds of horses. For twenty of those years she conditioned and trained both yearling Thoroughbreds and Quarter horses. She helped prepare these young horses for their future on the racetrack or reining competitions. Furthermore, Marie has also worked in several small animal and equine veterinary practices in Georgia. She has been with the CBE team almost 10 years and enjoys helping our clients and their horses. Until recently, Marie enjoyed competing her Quarter horse gelding “Cash” in NRHA reining horse shows. Marie is a grandmother of two and lives in Winder with two dogs, four cats, two horses, five chickens and her husband Jim who manages a large Thoroughbred farm in Winder.
Alyssa Ruffa, Administrative Assistant
Alyssa Ruffa is a recent graduate from the University of Georgia with a B.S.A. in Biological Science. During her undergraduate years, she rode for the club equestrian team, did research in entomology, and joined the United States Army Reserves through the UGA Army ROTC program. Originally from a small farm in New Jersey, Alyssa grew up working with horses, sheep, goats, and other livestock. While she loves all animals, she is partial to her pitbull, Rodney, who lives with her in Athens, Ga. Alyssa is currently working part time in the office in addition to shadowing the doctors to gain more hands on experience.
