Covered Bridge Equine Rabies Vaccination Policy

Covered Bridge Equine will be requiring rabies vaccination for all patients. Rabies is a universally fatal disease in horses and can easily be passed on to humans or other animals. Rabies has been documented in local wildlife in our area and is an active risk to all horses, livestock and pets. This vaccination must be administered by a veterinarian under Georgia law.

In order to protect our veterinary staff and clients we will be requiring all new clients to present proof of rabies vaccination or to schedule an appointment for rabies vaccination prior to performing routine or emergency work. For established clients, reminders will be sent from our office when horses are due for rabies vaccination. In cases of horses with a history of vaccine reactions, your veterinarian will work with you to develop an appropriate protection strategy on a case by case basis.
