Meet Dr. Peroni!


Dr. Dana Peroni graduated from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1998. She worked in equine practice for several years in Michigan and also did research on upper airway disease in horses for a year at Michigan State. She and her husband, Dr. John Peroni, moved to Athens in 2000 when he was hired as a Large Animal surgeon at the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr Dana Peroni opened Covered Bridge Equine in September of 2002. She likes working with horses of all disciplines, from backyard horses to miniatures and sport horses. She has a special affinity for those naughty donkeys too! Dr. Peroni is an avid runner and also enjoys yoga, reading and trail riding her Quarter Horse "Bourbon". The Peroni's have 2 children, Julia and Luca, who tend to keep them busy when they are not working. Four"Georgia mixed-breed" dogs also reside with the Peroni family and love to play with the kids. Dr. Peroni is certified in equine and canine chiropractic medicine and is a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist (CVA) and enjoys incorporating alternative therapies into practice.
